Union Pacific Employee Denied Use of Service Dog Wins Bias Trial

An Arkansas federal jury awarded a Union Pacific Railroad Co. conductor $250,000 after finding the company violated disability bias law by failing to let him bring his service dog to work to help him cope with his military service-related post-traumatic stress disorder, court records show.

The verdict in favor of Perry Hopman under the Americans with Disabilities Act found he was denied a reasonable job accommodation for his mental health impairment.
