The Justice Department supported a whistleblower’s False Claims Act suit against Aerojet Rocketdyne Holdings Inc., urging a federal court to recognize that the government couldn’t stop working with the contractor merely because it was accused of failing to comply with cybersecurity requirements.
Aerojet Rocketdyne contends the suit—alleging it knowingly failed to use information systems that complied with cybersecurity rulesas required by missile defense and rocket engine contracts—must fail because the agencies had full knowledge of its noncompliance at the time the whistleblower sued, and it had no effect on government contracting decisions.
