Trump’s Penn Station Revamp Heads for Funding Fight With States

Amtrak, which the Trump administration put in charge of overhauling Manhattan’s Penn Station, will ask New Jersey and New York to help finance the renovation of North America’s busiest train depot.

When the administration took over the project in April, New York Governor Kathy Hochul redirected $1.3 billion originally pegged for the development to New York City’s transit infrastructure. She touted the move as a win for New Yorkers, since the federal government would handle the financing for the new station. But that might not be the case.
