The Defense Health Agency reasonably awarded TriWest Healthcare Alliance Corp. a $65 billion managed healthcare support services contract for the TRICARE Program in the western region of the US, the GAO said in a decision released Tuesday.
DOD provides healthcare services through the TRICARE program to about 9 million military members and their families by purchasing services on the open market.
Protester Health Net Federal Services LLC failed to show that the agency’s technical approach evaluation was flawed for not considering risk associated with TriWest lacking an existing TRICARE health-care provider network, the Government Accountability Office said.
