Trace Systems’ $121 Million Air Force Task Order Needs Do Over

SMS Data Products Group Inc. showed that the US Air Force’s award of a $121 million task order to Trace Systems Inc. for communications support was unreasonable, the GAO said in a decision released Friday.

The Air Force should re-evaluate proposals, make a new best-value tradeoff, and then make a new award decision, the Government Accountability Office said. The Air Force should terminate Trace’s task order for the convenience of the government if another bidder represents the best value, the GAO said.
