Tower to Pay $150,000 in Brooklyn Bridge False Claims Deal

Tower Maintenance Corp. will pay $150,000 to settle claims the company violated the False Claims Act by fraudulently obtaining payments under federally funded steel painting projects to renovate the Brooklyn Bridge and Queens Plaza, according to a federal court filing.

Tower and federal prosecutors filed Monday a stipulation and order of settlement and dismissal with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Co-defendant Ahern Painting Contractors agreed to a $3 million settlement in October 2019, and Spectrum Painting Corp. agreed to a $400,000 settlement in July.
