State Farm Whistleblower Urges SCOTUS to Review FCA Settlements

A whistleblower asked the US Supreme Court to revive his False Claims Act suit alleging that State Farm Mutual Auto Insurance Co. defrauded federal health-care programs by avoiding payment of medical benefits to car accident victims it insured.

The decision improperly enforced a settlement of FCA claims because the government didn’t have the opportunity to veto the agreement before its execution, whistleblower Michael Angelo said in his petition for writ of certiorari.
