Starbucks Workers’ Challenge to NLRB Protections Dismissed (1)

Starbucks Corp. workers lost their challenge to a legal shield protecting members of the National Labor Relations Board from being removed without cause.

Ariana Cortes and Logan Karam alleged that the NLRB’s structure is unconstitutional because it doesn’t allow the president to fire board members for any or no reason, after the labor board shot down their attempts to unseat Starbucks Workers United from two stores in New York.

But Chief Judge James E. Boasberg of the US District Court for the District of Columbia said in a Wednesday opinion that the plaintiffs lack standing to sue.
