A whistleblower suit alleging that North Carolina-based Caromont Health Inc. and others defrauded federal health-care programs by falsifying sleep study reports will proceed without the US government’s assistance.
Jennifer Runge and Candace Meek’s False Claims Act suit filed in 2021 was unsealed by a Tuesday order signed by Judge Max O. Cogburn Jr. of the US District Court for the Western District of North Carolina. The US government declined to intervene, the order said.
