Sex Trafficking Survivor Advances Suit Against Wyndham Hotels

An alleged survivor of sex trafficking can move forward with her lawsuit alleging that Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Inc. and a Texas franchisee benefited from a trafficking scheme, a federal district court said.

The plaintiff, suing as a Jane Doe, adequately raised a claim under the Trafficking Victims Protection Act by pleading the defendants should have known about the nature of the venture, Judge David Alan Ezra of the US District Court for the Western District of Texas ruled on Aug. 30, denying defense motions to dismiss.
