Senate Panel Approves Contractor Conflict of Interest Bill (1)

Following the Food and Drug Administration’s decision to stop contracting with McKinsey & Company after revelations that it contracted with both government clients and opioid manufacturers on related issues, a Senate committee approved a bill to tackle federal contractors’ conflicts of interest.

The measure (S. 3905) would require contractors to disclose separate business relationships with entities in conflict with awarded federal contract work. Contractors would also need to disclose potential conflicting business.
