Sanofi, Whistleblower Settle 20-Year False Claims Act Suit (1)

A False Claims Act whistleblower and Sanofi U.S. Services Inc., Aventis Inc., and Aventisub LLC have agreed to end a nearly 20-year suit alleging the defendants paid speaking fees, grants, meals, and gifts to doctors as kickbacks to induce prescriptions of cancer drug Taxotere.

The parties on Friday filed a joint notice of stipulation and consent to voluntary dismissal of the action with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Federal prosecutors filed a notice of consent to dismissal, stating that the parties had reached a settlement.
