Four whistleblowers accusing Academy of Art University in San Francisco of defrauding the Department of Education will have their day in court on April 27, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California said.
The trial in this 10-year False Claims Act suit will begin that day; a pretrial conference is scheduled for April 2, Judge Phyllis J. Hamilton said Tuesday.
The whistleblowers contend that the university fraudulently obtained funds from the department by violating a promise to not compensate admissions officers on the basis of enrollment success.
