A whistleblower who posted video footage about Planned Parenthood’s fetal practices on YouTube in 2015 may proceed with a False Claims Act suit accusing the organization of improperly billing Medicaid, a Texas federal district court said.
Alex Doe adequately alleged that Panned Parenthood unlawfully billed Medicaid in Louisiana and Texas because the organization lost eligibility to submit such bills following the two states’ termination decisions, Judge Matthew J. Kacsmaryk said.
The terminations occurred because of the whistleblower’s report, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas judge said in an April 29 opinion.
