Planned Parenthood Court Decision Must Be Unsealed, Group Says

A Texas federal district court should unseal its ruling that denied Planned Parenthood Federation of America Inc.'s bid to stop a whistleblower’s False Claims Act suit alleging Medicaid fraud, a nonprofit organization that assists reporters said.

The Oct. 23 opinion in this case, which has “intense public interest,” must be unsealed under the common law because the balancing of interests weighs in favor of disclosure, Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press argued in a brief filed with the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas on Wednesday.
