Philadelphia Health-Care Provider Hit With Retaliation Lawsuit

Philadelphia-based Quality Community Health Care Inc. is accused of violating the False Claims Act by firing a former chief medical officer in retaliation for her calling attention to federal grant fraud, according to a complaint filed Friday.

Stephanie Santoro says she was fired by Quality Community because she complained that the health-care provider was intentionally inflating the number of patients treated to maintain eligibility for funding from the US Department of Health and Human Services.
