PharMerica, Whistleblower Settle 13-Year Drug Kickback Lawsuit

Pharmacy operator PharMerica Corp. and a whistleblower have settled a False Claims Act suit alleging that the company engaged in a drug kickback scheme that defrauded Medicare and Medicaid.

The US government said it consented to the dismissal of claims in a June 14 filing with Judge Edward S. Kiel of the US District Court for the District of New Jersey. PharMerica and Marc Silver filed a joint stipulation of dismissal June 11. The case is closed, according to the docket.
