Pentagon Cloud Contract Aims to Enable Global Info-Sharing

The Pentagon will award its multibillion-dollar enterprise cloud contract in December, tackling one angle of technological threats from foreign adversaries like China, according to DISA.

“We have to achieve an information advantage over our near-peer adversaries,” Sharon Woods, the director of the Defense Information Systems Agency’s Hosting and Compute Center, said Wednesday at a FCW workshop. “And doing that means we have to be able to collect and process data locally at the point of collection, not just where there is persistent and reliable communications.”
