A jury properly awarded a False Claims Act whistleblower $275,000 in a lawsuit accusing Parker-Migliorini International LLC of firing him for telling the government that the company made misrepresentations about the countries to which it shipped beef, a Utah district court said.
Brandon Barrick is entitled to two times the amount of back pay lost plus prejudgment interest, as well as reasonable attorneys’ fees, said Judge Jill N. Parrish of the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah.
