OxyContin Fraud Case Could Proceed With New Whistleblower

A false claims case against opioid producer Purdue Pharma L.P. and other companies could continue with a new whistleblower.

Counsel for whistleblower Robert Manchester, who died unexpectedly in January, told a federal court that his daughter Jessica Manchester Lubitz is a proper substitute to proceed with the case.

The case accuses defendants of failing to report illicit practices and misrepresenting risks involving the distribution of OxyContin, an opioid pain reliever.
