Oklahoma Contractors to Pay $3 Million to Resolve Fraud Claims

Oklahoma-based Ross Group Construction Corp. and affiliates will pay nearly $3 million to settle allegations they violated the False Claims Act by improperly receiving set-aside contracts reserved for disadvantaged small businesses, the Justice Department said.

The settlement resolves allegations Ross created two companies, PentaCon LLC and C3 LLC, to fraudulently induce the government to award certain contracts, the DOJ said in a Tuesday announcement.
Ross Group allegedly maintained operational control over the two companies, and therefore those companies didn’t satisfy size and eligibility requirements to participate in Small Business Administration set-aside programs, the DOJ said.
