Occupational Therapy Firm Submitted False Claims to Medicaid

Middle Georgia Family Rehab LLC violated the False Claims Act by billing federal healthcare programs for occupational therapy services after two therapists ended their employment, a district court said.

Whistleblower Joshua Walthour and the government showed Middle Georgia Family Rehab still submitted100 Medicaid claims and 667 TRICARE claims in one therapist’s name after she left the company on Jan. 4, 2018, Judge Tilman E. Self III of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia ruled in a Wednesday opinion.

The imposition of fines and penalties will be discussed at a hearing within 30 days, the court said. ...
