NY Clothes Company Agrees to $1 Million Customs Fraud Settlement

New York City apparel company High Life LLC agreed to pay $1.3 million to settle a False Claims Act suit alleging that High Life underreported the value of clothing imported into the US, and that the company caused dozens of customs entry forms to be presented with inaccurate valuations.

High Life and federal prosecutors filed a stipulation and order of settlement and dismissal with the US District Court for the Southern District of New York on Wednesday.

The parties didn’t immediately respond to a request for comments.
