North Carolina Pharmacy Agrees to $4 Million False Claims Deal

A North Carolina pharmacy and others agreed to pay a $4 million settlement in a False Claims Act case alleging that the defendants improperly billed federal healthcare programs for prescription drugs.

All Medicines Inc., doing business as Townsend’s Pharmacy; James Bell; and Melisha West will pay $1.9 million to the US government, and $2.1 million to North Carolina, according to a filing with the US District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina

Whistleblower Bronson Lowery sued in 2017. The federal government and North Carolina intervened in 2020.
