The US National Institutes of Health is planning to cancel a $50 billion IT services procurement called Chief Information Officer–Solutions and Partners 4 in its entirety, and extend bridge awards under a current contract.
NIH reached this decision after considering the impact of executive order 14240, Eliminating Waste and Saving Taxpayer Dollars by Consolidating Procurement, the US Justice Department told the US Court of Federal Claims in a Jan. 30 status report. NIH believes the cancellation process will take up to 30 days, the report said, and the government will update the court upon completion.
