New York Labs Seek $543 Million From US for Unpaid Covid Tests

LabQ Clinical Diagnostics LLC and two other Brooklyn-based laboratories say the US government owes nearly $543 million for failing to reimburse them for performing covid-19 tests on uninsured individuals throughout New York City.

The refusal to pay LabQ, Dart Medical Laboratory Inc., and Community Mobile Testing Inc. constitutes a breach of contract, as well as a breach of the CARES Act and other statutes enacted to combat the pandemic, the plaintiffs told the US Court of Federal Claims in an Oct. 17 complaint.

The US Department of Justice didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
