New Jersey Vehicle Parts Supplier Settles Buy American Claims

A New Jersey-based supplier of vehicle parts to the military will pay $850,000 to resolve allegations it breached contracts with the federal government and violated the False Claims Act by selling items manufactured in prohibited countries, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey said.

Brighton Cromwell LLC allegedly knowingly sold items to the Defense Logistics Agency that Brighton Cromwell failed to ascertain and verify satisfied the Buy American Act or Trade Agreements Act, the U.S. attorney’s office announced Tuesday.

This alleged conduct violated the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement, the announcement said.
