Nelnet Fails to Stop Education Department’s Loan Support Awards

Nelnet Diversified Solutions LLC failed to show that the Department of Education improperly eliminated it from a $1.7 billion student loan customer support procurement called NextGen Business Process Operations before selecting five awardees in June, the GAO said in a decision released Thursday.

Nelnet didn’t show that the department erred in concluding that its bid was unacceptable for failing to satisfy a 47% small business subcontracting requirement, the Government Accountability Office said.
