National Public Radio Reaches $36 Million Deal in Funds Dispute

National Public Radio Inc. will receive $36 million from Corporation for Public Broadcasting to resolve a funding dispute, but NPR’s First Amendment suit against US officials continues.

NPR’s allegations that CPB unlawfully withheld funds appropriated by Congress to support operation of the Public Radio Satellite System are withdrawn because of this agreement, the parties told the US District Court for the District of Columbia in a Monday court filing.
