Multibillion-Dollar Space Missile Defense R&D Work Up for Bids

Vendors supporting the Pentagon’s high-stakes missile defense mission received notice today that the Army is now accepting proposals for a $4.6 billion, 10-year research and development requirement.

Bids on the multiple-award Design, Development, Demonstration and Integration II’s (D3I2) Domain 1 for complex space, high-altitude, and missile defense research are due Oct. 15.

D3I2 Domains 1 and 2 represent the Army’s key missile defense R&D vehicle for the next decade and had been tracked in Bloomberg Government’s Top 20 contracting opportunities, a curated catalog of the most lucrative agency acquisitions that are in the pre-RFP stage.
