Microsoft’s Cloud Award Violates Research Program, Suit Says

The government’s decision to award Microsoft Corp. a sole-source task order under a $9 billion maximum value cloud support services contract to support US Naval Sea Systems Command violated a small business research program’s rules, G2 Ops Inc. says in a lawsuit.

The government failed to engage in a good faith effort to negotiate a sole-source award to G2 as required by Small Business Innovative Research Program laws and policies before selecting Microsoft, G2 told the US Court of Federal Claims in a complaint made public May 15.
