Microsoft Withstands SAIC’s Night Vision Goggle Patent Challenge

Science Applications International Corp., better known as SAIC, lost its challenge alleging that Microsoft Corp. provided night vision goggle systems to the government that infringed its patents.

Microsoft won summary judgment of non-infringement, a US Court of Federal Claims judgment said Sept. 29.

Judge Eleni M. Roumel’s opinion is under seal.

SAIC sued the government in June 2017 asserting that it infringed its patents by entering into contracts with competitors for the manufacture and use of night vision weapon systems with specialized heads up displays that use SAIC’s technology.
