Medtronic, Whistleblower Settle Spine Device Fraud Lawsuit (1)

A whistleblower and Medtronic Inc. have reached a settlement in a False Claims Act suit alleging that the company misled the Food and Drug Administration as to the proper use of its spinal fusion devices used in surgery.

The Dan Abrams Company LLC and Medtronic entered a settlement agreement Oct. 31, the parties told the US District Court for the Central District of California in a Nov. 27 stipulation of dismissal.
