LabCorp Must Face Blood Drawing Conspiracy Claim

Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings must continue to defend itself against a False Claims Act lawsuit alleging it participated in a conspiracy to defraud government health programs, the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina said.

Two whistleblowers adequately alleged that LabCorp entered into specific agreements with two other laboratories, Health Diagnostic Laboratory Inc. and Singulex Inc., with knowledge that those companies engaged in kickback schemes involving blood drawing services, Judge Richard M. Gergel said.
