Idaho health services company Kootenai Hospital District and two whistleblowers have settled a False Claims Act suit alleging that the company engaged in a scheme to improperly bill Medicare, a federal court said.
Magistrate Judge Candy W. Dale of the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho dismissed the suit Thursday following the parties’ joint motion announcing their settlement. The amount wasn’t made public.
Robbie Garrett and James Daniel Garrett alleged Kootenai defrauded Medicare by allowing non-physicians to perform certain medical procedures and using false diagnosis codes, among other alleged misconduct.
