Iron Mountain Can Keep $142 Million IRS Contract After Protests

Two IT management services companies can no longer pursue their bid protests against the Internal Revenue Service’s grant of a $142 million task order to Iron Mountain Information Management LLC, a federal court said.

The US Court of Federal Claims dismissed consolidated challenges from GovCIO LLC and 22nd Century Technologies, Inc. as moot because the underlying task order expired, a Tuesday order said. The plaintiffs filed separate bid protests to Iron Mountain’s task order in May, alleging the IRS improperly barred other companies from competing for the tax filing scanning contract.
