The Interior Department said Tuesday it’s canceling previously scheduled public meetings on the Vineyard Mid-Atlantic offshore wind project to implement a White House executive order calling for halting offshore wind development.
Vineyard Mid-Atlantic LLC in 2022 won offshore wind leases for a wind farm in the New York Bight Wind Energy Area off of Long Island. The planned offshore wind farm would use up to 117 turbines to generate 2,000 megawatts of electricity.
