Honeywell Stops Engineer’s Bid to Revive Retaliation Lawsuit

Honeywell International Inc. defeated a former engineer’s attempt to reinstate a suit alleging the company violated the False Claims Act by firing her in retaliation for calling attention to fraud under a US Navy contract, the Ninth Circuit said Friday.

An Arizona federal district court correctly determined that Linda Arce’s retaliation claim failed because she didn’t show she was engaged in protected activity under the FCA, the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit said in an unpublished, nonprecedential opinion.
