Honeywell Must Face DOJ’s Body Armor False Claims Act Suit

Honeywell International Inc. must continue to face a Justice Department False Claims Act suit claiming that it provided inadequate bullet-resistant vest material known as Z Shield to suppliers supporting law enforcement under General Services Administration contracts, a Washington federal court ruled.

Honeywell may have provided information to suppliers and the government that was misleading and omitted necessary facts about the quality of its material, Judge Paul L. Friedman of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia said Nov. 25 in its decision denying Honeywell summary judgment.
