High Court Wants Solicitor General’s View on Iraq Terror Case

The US Supreme Court on Monday invited the solicitor general to express the government’s views on an Anti-Terrorism Act lawsuit over drugmakers’ alleged financial ties to a series of terrorist attacks in Iraq.

Drugmakers in their July 3 petition asked the Supreme Court to vacate a ruling that allowed a lawsuit over their alleged financial ties to a series of terrorist attacks to advance.

The petitioners are 21 companies from five corporate families—AstraZeneca PLC, GE Healthcare Technologies Inc., Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer Inc., and Roche Holding AG.
