GSA Approved to Advance $300 Million Security Container Plan

The US General Services Administration can proceed with a $300 million procurement for security containers despite a protester’s claim the agency is improperly seeking a commercial product solution, the GAO said in a decision released Thursday.

Alpha Safe and Vault Inc. failed to show that the GSA’s plan to acquire products the general public uses is unreasonable, the US Government Accountability Office said.

The agency’s “extensive market research” provided the agency with a reasonable basis for concluding commercial products would constitute GSA-approved security containers, the GAO said.
