More than one thousand bidders can move ahead competing for work on the Missile Defense Agency’s plan to build a continental missile shield as part of the ‘Golden Dome’ project.
The Defense Department announced Dec. 2 that 1,014 qualifying vendors have won contracts for the MDA Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense, or MDA SHIELD.
Contracts from this first phase of awards will run through December 2035 and combined will have a maximum value of $151 billion.
MDA SHIELD is a key vehicle for the Golden Dome project pitched by President Donald Trump and Pentagon leaders.
