Gilead Fraud Claims Dismissed at Justice Department’s Request (2)

The Justice Department convinced a California federal court to dismiss claims accusing Gilead Sciences Inc. of defrauding the government by using substandard ingredients in HIV drugs in violation of the False Claims Act.

Dismissal serves the valid governmental purpose of reducing litigation costs and it serves to avoid undermining decisions by the Food and Drug Administration, Judge Edward M.
