Galvion’s $131 Million Helmet Award is Unauthorized, Gentex Says

Gentex Corp. says a federal court should stop the US Marine Corps from moving forward with its selection of Galvion Technologies LLC to perform a $131 million integrated helmet system contract.

The award decision had several flaws, including how the Corps exceeded its “other transaction” authority when choosing Galvion by relaxing helmet weight requirements the awardee’s prototype didn’t satisfy, Gentex told the US Court of Federal Claims in a complaint made public Thursday. The Corps should have disqualified Galvion for that reason, Gentex says.
