Feds Will Intervene to Dismiss Dish Network Whistleblower Suit

Federal prosecutors say they will seek dismissal of a whistleblower suit alleging that Dish Network Inc. and others defrauded the Federal Communications Commission out of $3.3 billion.

The government plans to file a motion to intervene in whistleblower Vermont National Telephone Co.'s False Claims Act suit by March 8 so it can move to dismiss, according to a March 1 filing with the US District Court for the District of Columbia.

Vermont National contends that Dish Network violated the FCA by using sham small businesses to win at auction FCC communications licenses worth billions of dollars.
