President Joe Biden’s $6.9 trillion fiscal 2024 budget proposal would continue a long-term trend of steady annual information technology budget increases.
The White House recommended $74 billion in IT budgets for civilian agencies, but Pentagon breakdowns for IT are not yet available. All civilian agencies together have averaged 52.8% of the federal government’s annual IT budget authority since fiscal 2014, according to Bloomberg Government analysis.
The Defense Department makes up the largest single IT budget governmentwide.
