Federal Cloud Approvals Surge With Contractor-Friendly Tool

Authorizations for the government’s cloud services compliance program reached an all-time high in fiscal 2022, boosted by the kickoff of an automated validation process that streamlines review of vendors’ applications.

Seventy-six cloud vendors satisfied authorization requirements for federal agency cloud providers in the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30. Fiscal 2021 would have remained the peak without the couple of dozen contractors that achieved the designation after the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) introduced a machine-readable data format called OSCAL for submissions in May.
