Ex-American Airlines Worker to Proceed With Discrimination Claim

A former American Airlines Inc. guest services representative can continue to press her claim the company fired her because of her race, a Texas federal district court said.

Chintamani Mueblas-Curtis, a 45 year-old Asian woman, adequately alleged American violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act by claiming the airline treated another employee, a White man, differently even though they both took company property without permission, Judge Sidney A. Fitzwater of the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas said in a Wednesday order.
