Eli Lilly to Appeal $193 Million False Claims Act Damages Award

Eli Lilly and Co. will appeal to the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit a ruling that it owes $193 million in damages and penalties for violating the False Claims Act by overcharging the federal government for pharmaceuticals.

Eli Lilly filed its notice of appeal on Tuesday with the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
