DynCorp Takes Down Most of Afghanistan Fraud Claims, Court Rules

DynCorp International Inc. will have to defend itself against whistleblowers’ claims that it double billed the government for vehicle use while performing logistics support services in Afghanistan, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia said.

Former DynCorp subcontracts managers Charles Hutchins and Joyce Subhi adequately alleged that DynCorp violated the False Claims Act by issuing subcontracts for waste management vehicle services while also performing the same services itself, Judge Rosemary M. Collyer said.

The court, however, dismissed the remainder of the whistleblowers’ claims, including allegations that DynCorp submitted false reports and invoices and billed for unnecessary medical procedures. ...
